This beach is located between Waquoit Bay and Vineyard Sound and features views of Katama Bay. A lifeguard is on duty during peak hours during the summer. Activites include canoeing, fishing, sunbathing, hiking and swimming. This park features one mile of white sand beach, a dune boardwalk and restrooms that are accessible from the beach. Aquinnah Cliffs The Aquinnah Cliffs, formerly known as the Gay Head Cliffs. With streaks of red and white clay, green sand, black soil and white quartz the cliffs are a colorful attraction that reveal the past. The various pigments served as paint for the houses on the island. The cliffs are protected as a National Historic Landmark. Climbing and removing clay from the cliffs are prohibited. Address: .
